Sometimes Life Hands You A Balloon

This may be as close to an American Beauty moment that I ever get...

While I was leaving my apartment this weekend, I saw a helium balloon in the middle of the intersection down the street from me. A weight was affixed to the end of it so that it would not fly away. I thought it an odd site to see a balloon in the middle of an intersection. Then the wind began to pick up and the balloon started drifting towards me, eventually landing at my feet. Now either life thought I seemed a little sad and wanted to cheer me up, or thought I had done something really great and deserved a little surprise.

Thanks life.

Awwww.. sweet :)
When stuff like that happens, I like to think it's a loved one from "the next life" Like when a butterfly crosses right in front of me -I usually think it's my granpaw.

What color was it?

What'd u do when it came to say hello?

It was actually a mylar balloon that said Happy Birthday on it?

I ran screaming back to my apartment...you know how scared of balloons I am! KInd of like your dislike of kittens.

Is the butterfly thing a Japanese or Shinto thing? Because I remember my mom and grandma telling me that when we saw a butterfly it was an ancestor too?

Haha Happy Birthday :) I think we should celebrate being born everyday!

Really? I had no idea about the symbolic/spiritual significance of butterflies! that's cool
...it's just something I like to believe ;)

Here is a cute butterfly-reincarnation story:

Also, in ancient greek the word butterfly was supposed to have meant soul.
