Sarah's Quick Tip Of The Week

People starting to find you predictable? Friends starting to guess your every move? Well here is what you're gonna want to do; start sending out emails like this to your friends and loved ones:

Hi Bob,

I was hoping you could help me with a favor. You know this city like the back of your hand. Do you know where I can get any of the following:

- A stained glass unicorn
- Vegemite
- An owl
- A Spanish Doubloon
- A plush manatee

Don't ask.

Thanks in advance,
Sarah

The important thing here is to include no less than 5 unrelated items. Try not to include more than 5 because then you seem more crazy than mysterious. Including "Don't Ask" at the end is the clincher. People will be intrigued, but generally respectful of your privacy.

Try it, and you are welcome in advance.

One last thing, does anyone know where I can get a snake wrangler costume(woman's)?

What? Legend has it that St. Patrick banished snakes from Ireland, I want to be festive for tomorrow. ;)

I could find 3 things on that list! :D (over in HI that is.) but I could MAKE the rest!..tho that's not the point. I don't think an email like that would work with quite the same amount of "magic" with the japanese friends. With complete patience and sincerity they'd fall into deep thought and end with: "Hmm, I'll ask around!" ...until all the asking aroundings reaches an american and he/she would be like: WTF? :D

I didn't tell you, but I decided to become a full on vegetarian so....hands off my vegemite!!! Oh and yes Gorilla had the Coke bottle glasses. As for winter, one word: Batteries.

Maggie- Yeah, I can see my relatives being totally accommodating and very apologetic about not having an Owl on hand. And I bet the next time I visited they would have like 4 Owls just to be safe.

Chris- Heather and I have become weekday vegetarians, only allowed meat on the weekends. Thing is I keep forgetting to actually have meat on the weekends. I was a vegetarian for a few years in college so it's not really that much of a challenge. Now that I think about it, what reverted me back to meat was an L and L burger on a trip to visit y'all.
